It has been super busy over at Ellie and Mac as Lindsey has been testing and releasing patterns every week! If you aren’t apart of the Ellie and Mac Facebook group, you certainly should join! Every Tuesday a **NEW** pattern is released and the patterns are generally quick sews (and by quick sew I mean 1 hour or less!)
The Believe in Magic dress looked stunning! Did I mention that I was afraid of ruffles?! Well…I am! All of the Ellie and Mac patterns have actual photos of each individual step with side notes for both serger and sewing machines; the directions are clear as well! My go-to patterns are generally Ellie and Mac because they are true to size and I know that they will be a quick sew! My kids adore the fun boutique styled designs as well.
I diligently sewed and gathered and top-stitched and BOOM! I was finished sewing. I could not believe how gorgeous this dress was. In under 1 hour, I had created this…AND I was afraid of ruffles! I challenged myself and thoroughly enjoyed it. Now, bring on the ruffles! (…Okay, back to the dress).
The Believe in Magic can be made for sizes 6-12 months through big girl 12 using either woven cotton OR knit and has two sets of straps; (2) cross-straps and (2) shoulder straps which give this dress its unique look as well as elastic to the back (2 rows) which allow for a more comfortable fit for this child. Did we talk about twirl!? This dress has a 10/10 twirl factor – so just keep spinning…
Have left over fabric or scraps from a previous project?! The Believe in Magic Dress is a great scrap buster!
